This email confirms the electronic receipt of the bankruptcy petition submitted to the Court as of the date of this email. The Court will file this submission if it contains all that we require to file a bankruptcy case. Please note that the minimum items listed below must be received by the Bankruptcy Court within 10 days of the date of this confirmation email.

The information that you enter in the bankruptcy petition cannot be changed once it is submitted to the Court. Once submitted, the Court will file the bankruptcy petition and email you with your case number.

You must submit the minimum items listed below to the Bankruptcy Court within 10 days of the date of this confirmation email by U.S. mail or express mail service to:

FILING FEE payable to “U.S. Bankruptcy Court”:

Due to the public health crisis, fees for chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions that are filed without an attorney are automatically set for installment payment. The installment is due within 10 days of the filing date. The installment must be paid in full. A lesser amount will not be accepted. The installment payment must be mailed to the Court in one of the following methods:

  • U.S. Postal money order.
  • Cashier’s check issued by an acceptable financial institution.

NOTE: If you are unable to pay your filing fee within 10 days, an application to make a fee installment payment at a later date must be filed by U.S. mail within 5 days.

List of minimum items required by mail within 10 days:

  1. A signed Declaration Regarding Electronic Filing (Self Represented Individual)
  2. A signed original Voluntary Petition for Individuals Filing for Bankruptcy (Official Form 101)
  3. A signed Statement About Your Social Security Numbers (Form 121)

These additional items may be submitted either by mail or through the Electronic Drop Box. Print and complete the following additional documents:

  1. Disclosure of Compensation of Bankruptcy Petition Preparer (Form B2800); (if applicable)
  2. Bankruptcy Petition Preparer’s Notice, Declaration and Signature (Form 119); (if applicable)
  3. Declaration by Debtor(s) as to Whether Income Was Received From An Employer Within 60 Days of the Petition Date
  4. Paystubs (if applicable)
  5. Initial Statement About an Eviction Judgment Against You (Form 101A); (if applicable)

Dismissal of Bankruptcy Case:

If the petition filing fee is not received within 10 days from the date of filing, your case will be dismissed. Additionally, if any of the required documents are not received by the Court by the deadline, your case will be dismissed.

Once Your Case Has Been Filed by the Court:

Once your case has been filed and issued a case number, a Notice of Bankruptcy Case Filing will be emailed to you with your bankruptcy case number. The case number is proof of your official bankruptcy filing. You may access the courts automated Voice Case Information System (VCIS) 24 hours/7 days a week, toll free at (866) 222-8029.
